William G. Caron, Ed.D.

Dr. Bill Caron is joining the Career Technical Education Academy in 2021 after dedicating himself to students and learning communities throughout Illinois for over 30 years.  Most recently, Bill has been the Superintendent of Scales Mound Community Unit School District #211 and is looking forward to working with partner school districts to continue the excellent work done by the students and staff of the Academy

Bill earned a Doctoral Degree from National Louis University in Chicago and is a 2020 Illinois School for Advanced Leadership Academy Fellow.  He earned a Master's Degree from Lewis University and a Bachelor’s Degree from Benedictine University.  

He has dedicated his career to the students of Illinois and is a passionate advocate for providing students and staff with leadership that will empower all to reach their full potential.  Bill’s career began as a science teacher in Schaumburg School District #54, continued as a science teacher and coach at St. Viator High School and Naperville CUSD #211, was a Dean of Students in Naperville CUSD #211, Assistant Principal in Skokie SD #69, and Principal at Indian Springs SD #109 and Lemont-Bromberek CSD #113a before becoming Superintendent of Scales Mound School District.  Additionally, in the summer of 2019, Bill was a professor at the University of Wisconsin, Platteville in the Principal Leadership Program.

Bill lives in Galena, Illinois with his wife Patti and has five grown children who live in Chicago and Plainfield, Illinois.
