I am Mike (Chief) Kuzniar the Criminal Justice /Law Enforcement instructor. I have over 29 years of law enforcement experience. I have worked for the Village of Hanover Illinois for 7 years as the Police Chief for 5 years and part time as a Police Officer for 2 years. Prior to Hanover Illinois, I worked as a Chicago Police Officer for 22 years. My assignments include Community Policing Officer, a Burglary Mission Officer, Tactical Team Officer, and a Patrol Officer. I have received 134 awards including Honorable Mentions, Department Commendations, Unit Citations, a Special Department Commendation, as well as numerous complimentary letters from Citizens. I bring with me an extensive knowledge of the Criminal Justice system including Police tactics and applications of the law, including court room proceedings. I have received a countless amount of training during my career including State Certified Crisis Intervention Officer, Senior Citizen Officer, Youth Officer, Safe Schools and Healthy Students, Emergency Management training, and Domestic Violence training. I am still currently an active Police Officer holding my certification and continuing my training. My passion has always been to help people.
