CTE Director

Chad Stenberg

I believe the most important thing for a student to do is to start to figure out what he/she wants to do by analyzing himself/herself. What are you good at? What are you passionate about? What do you look for in a career? What do you want to do with your life? These are the questions I constantly present to students. It isn't necessarily a college degree, but a plan for the future that gives students a head start. A college education is valuable, but exploring the countless career options is vital. I believe the CTE Academy has one of the greatest missions of any educational institution: To prepare high school students for life after high school through career technical education.

I was born and raised in Rockford, Illinois, and started in education career in 2006. Most of my teaching career was in History and Career Education, but I’ve taught English, Speech, and Reading. I have degrees from Rockford University, Saint Xavier University, and Bethel University. We moved to Galena in 2020. My family (wife and 3 kids) loves the small towns that make up the northwest corner of Illinois!

I love history, coffee, traveling, and skiing at Chestnut Mountain.
