Law Enforcement and Criminal Justice
This course is designed to provide the student with a general overview of criminal justice/law enforcement in the United States, including a historical perspective. The course involves “hands-on” learning with a focus on keeping up with the new technology that has been introduced to criminal justice/law enforcement (CJ/LE), including drones, virtual reality goggles, simulators, personal protective equipment (PPE), etc. The course is tailored to the interests of the students and CJ/LE occupations. The course takes advantage of the Instructor’s professional experience and includes unsolved crimes, a Crime Scene Investigation (CSI) classroom, and crisis intervention/de-escalation procedures and techniques.
